The 648cc parallel twin engine is incredibly smooth and surprisingly refined for a Royal Enfield. It pulls cleanly through the rev range, and there's enough torque to have fun on both city streets and open highways. The exhaust note is deep and satisfying without being obnoxious. Handling is sharp and confident, especially with the clip-on bars and slightly aggressive riding position. It's not the most comfortable for long-distance touring, but for short spirited rides and weekend getaways, it's perfect. The suspension setup is decent — not too stiff, not too soft — and the Pirelli Phantom Sportcomp tires offer excellent grip.
